Yves Saint Laurent Rebel Nudes Glossy Stain

The YSL glossy stains are one of my favourite lip products. Glossy without being sticky they possess a wonderful mutable quality, blending seamlessly with my lips natural colour to create a unique pop of colour . I'm tough on my lip products, copious cups of coffee, bottled water and snacking throughout the day, and these little gems last for about 3-4 hours on me. Not the most long-lasting, but a cinch to reapply, the doe foot applicator makes it easy peasy. I usually don't even need a mirror, just a quick swipe while I'm at my desk at work.

I was excited when I heard a new sub-range was being released, the 'Rebel Nudes.' I popped off to Myer and bought one to trial.

The Rebel Nudes range includes ten new shades.  They differ from the originals, they're more translucent and these contain a hint of shimmer.  102 Corail Mutin swatches as a pink-toned peach with a soft sparkle.

Here it is on my lips.

The flash photo shows a hint of the sparkle that's specific to the Rebel Nudes. They feel, smell and yes, taste, just like the originals. It wears for about 3 hours on me, and fades evenly.

All in all, I love it.  The shimmer is subtle but adds a little something extra and the colour works with my natural pigment to create a really natural but enhanced lip. I've ordered two more (106 and 109) and will review them soon.

If you're looking for a colour punch, stick to the original range, but if you're looking for something to pair with a smoky or vibrant eye, definitely give these a try.

I bought mine for a whopping $50AUD.  Nordstrom and Saks have the range for $34USD.

Welcome!

Hi, I'm am a 30-something, Sydneysider. A confirmed (unrepentant!) makeup junkie I have been an avid follower of a number of makeup blogs for years. Why did I finally decide to join their ranks? Living in Australia and doing a large portion of my beauty-binging online, I rely on swatches to inform my purchases. Many collections aren't even released here until months after their US/European release and when they are it's rare for us to get the whole range.

So, I've decided to share the love.  For any and all who have scoured pages of Google search results madly looking for a swatch of Rouge d'Armani 508 or Nars Red Square Velvet Matte (or is that just me?), I hope my swatches aid the cause.

While I love ALL makeup, there are a few brands I buy religiously. Armani, YSL, Nars, Urban Decay, Ellis Faas are must-buys, while Dior, Chanel, MAC, Tarte have a respectable representation in my stash

I'm not a brilliant photographer, a makeup artist or technologically gifted (it took me an hour to figure out I could change the blogspot colour scheme) so please don't expect a professional output.

I will promise my reviews will be honest and my swatches will be as accurate as I can get them.

First up, my new YSL glossy stain rebel nude, followed closely by my collection of Nars satin lip pencils and Armani lip maestro.
